We're a remote team working out of many timezones, based in Vancouver, Canada. We really love shipping software on the web. We've built our business around delivering the most value we can to our clients and customers, and as a result all of our business to date has been through referrals. We're growing because we deliver exceptional results to really great clients.
We're looking for a Product Designer to join our team. This is a contract position, and we expect the workload to be in the range of 20-35hrs a week. We’re a fully remote and distributed team at Springloaded, and we really value effective asynchronous communication.
There will be a lot of hands-on work with our client, so we’re limiting the position to North American timezones. You’ll work your own hours, as long as you’re able to maintain a few hours of overlap with the team. The design process will be collaborative with stakeholders and the development team.
Over the last year we've been building a data-intensive internal application, and we'll be tacking on a public facing version of this application. Our existing design system has been designed for the internal user base, and we'll need to adjust some of this system for use with a new demographic.
You'll need to be an expert in Figma. You should be up-to-date on accessibility standards and best practices, with a good understanding of how your designs will translate to the browser. The application will be mobile-first, so extensive experience with that paradigm is a big asset. We use TailwindCSS and integrate tokens directly into Figma, so an understanding of designing using utility-first CSS frameworks is important for our teams to work efficiently.
We anticipate the duration of this engagement to be in the 3-4 month range. We'll aim to kick off the design process in early-mid February. Outside of this project, we typically have a general need for design work, so there's a good chance we'll have more work for you after this project wraps up.
Heads up! We closed this posting on . We're no longer accepting applications at this time. If you'd like to work with us in the future you can shoot us a note, and we'll keep you in mind for future opportunities!
If you're interested in applying for this position, shoot us an email with your resume and cover letter at [email protected]. Feel free to use the email body for your cover letter, and we'd really prefer your resume to be in PDF form. Make sure you clearly include the timezone that you'll be working from. We'll do our best to get back to you as soon as we can. We look forward to hearing from you!
